All DreamMaker Spas and Hot Tubs are shipped directly from the factory to you!
This is done for a number of reasons: A tub shipped to a dealer may sit around for months in the showroom or in their warehouse. Once you purchase from a dealer, it needs to be loaded and delivered yet again to your home. By making only one trip from the factory direct to you, we minimize the chance for damage in transit. Why have your spa make two trips instead of one?
Shipping Factory Direct also ensures that you don't get some dealer leftover, overstocked spa from last year's inventory. Only Brand New - Factory Direct spas are sold at My-Hot-Tub-and-Spa.com.
Shipping Timeframes:
DreamMaker maintains one of the largest inventories of spas in stock. It is very likely your order will ship within 1-2 business days. If it will take longer than that, we will contact you. Please make sure you enter a valid phone number AND email address when you place your order.
About Delivery:
Due to the size and weight of the hot tubs and spas we sell, they simply cannot ship via UPS or FedEx. They will be delivered by truck. As you can imagine, the cost of shipping a spa this way is very expensive, especially when delivering across the country. Regardless, WE pay the freight charges to avoid YOU having to incur the additional expense of delivery.
All of our freight companies deliver curbside. Drivers do not move the spa around to your backyard or up the steps onto a deck. The freight company will contact you by phone in advance of the delivery to let you know the expected arrival day and time. You will need to be present to accept delivery. We recommend that you have two able bodied people present to take the spa from the curb to it's intended location.
Note: It is the trucking companies responsibility to put the spa at the end of the truck. It is the customers responsibility from that point on. Some trucks will be equipped with a lift gate that can lower the spa down to ground level, but this cannot be guaranteed in every case.
What about Damage?
It is YOUR responsibility to inspect the spa for damage PRIOR to accepting delivery. If you notice unacceptable damage, DO NOT ACCEPT delivery. This is our only opportunity to help you and hold the freight company responsible for any damage in transit. Once you have accepted the delivery, you have accepted the spa as-is and we cannot exchange it for a new spa. Please, please take the time to check out the spa before you sign off on the delivery!! If the packing materials look damaged or compromised in any way, make sure to look behind the packing materials and check out the spa thoroughly.
Other considerations:
The Eclipse and X-100 Escape are round and can often be rolled over the grass to their destination. For the other models, a furniture hand truck or dolly can be used to assist in moving the spa. These are available at most U-Hauls or rental centers for about $10-$15 a day. A good hand truck is worth it's weight in gold when it comes to moving something this bulky.
If you have a fence, make sure that you can fit the spa through the gate when turned on end. Please double check the dimensions of the spa prior to placing your order to make sure it will fit through your fence or doorway.
Where to put the Spa?
It is the customers responsibility to select an appropriate location for the spa. A filled hot tub will weigh a considerable amount. You will need to make sure that the location you place the spa is structurally sound enough to support the weight.
Note: Don’t forget to level your spa before filling it!
Electrical Requirements
While our 110V spas plug directly into a standard outlet, they do require a no shared 15 Amp service. The 110V plug has a built in GFI Circuit. If you plug this cord into a GFI protected outlet, the two cancel each other out and will not work. Change the outlet so it is not GFI protected and rely on the GFI protection in the power cord itself.
Outdoor Considerations:
If you install the spa outdoors, a reinforced concrete pad at least four inches thick is recommended. The reinforcing rod or mesh in the pad should be attached to a bond wire. No matter where you install your new spa, it’s important that you have a solid foundation to support it.
If you place the spa on the ground, even temporarily, place stepping stones under the leveling areas. The stones should be at least two inches thick and twelve inches square. Even with stones in place, the spa will inevitably settle and become unlevel. Plus, a spa surrounded by dirt or grass will soon be filled with dirt or grass from users’ feet; therefore, it is important to get it onto a solid foundation as soon as possible.
Note: Some communities have fencing or enclosure requirements for homes with pools and hot tubs. It is your responsibility to check with your community to ensure compliance.
Deck Installation:
To be certain your deck or floor can support your spa, you must know the deck's maximum load capacity. Consult a qualified building contractor or structural engineer before you place the spa on an elevated deck or indoors. The weight per square foot must not exceed the structure’s rated capacity, or serious structural damage could result. Structural damage to the spa resulting from incorrect installation or placement on an inadequate foundation is not covered under most spa warranties.
Indoor considerations:
A Hot Tub will produce a considerable amount of moisture: Water will splash out of the tub; condensation forms on the cover and will drip down even when not in use. Be aware of some special requirements if you place your spa indoors. Water will accumulate around the spa so flooring materials must provide a good grip when wet. Proper drainage is essential to prevent a build-up of water around the spa. When building a new room for the spa, it is recommended that a floor drain be installed. The humidity will naturally increase with the spa installed. Water may get into woodwork and produce dry rot, mildew, or other problems. Check for airborne moisture’s effects on exposed wood, paper, etc. in the room. To minimize these effects, it is best to provide plenty of ventilation to the spa area. An architect can help to determine if more ventilation must be installed.
